Lactic Acid Peel

Our Lactic Acid Peel at Bella Body is one of the gentlest chemical peels we offer. Unlike our Glycolic Acid Peel, our Lactic Acid peel is extra gentle and we recommend it for our patients with sensitive skin.

Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxyl acid and is derived from sour milk. It helps your skin maintain the correct pH factor. Lactic Acid aids in the removal of germs, toxins and dead skin cells. Patients who have tried our Lactic Acid Peel report that their skin feels smoother and tighter. Although gentle, Lactic Acid Peels provide many of the same benefits as other peels, with subtler results.

Similar to other chemical peels, the Lactic Acid Peel can provide major benefits to your skin by reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles, addressing ongoing issues with acne and combating oily skin. Lactic acid can also help dry skin by restoring pH levels and allowing heavy moisturizers to penetrate more deeply into the skin.

Your medical aesthetician will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to apply and neutralize your peel. There is minimal downtime for the Lactic Acid Peels. While many patients have reported no side effects, you may experience mild redness and itchiness. Most side effects subside after the first 48 hours. Regardless of the side effects, you may resume daily activities immediately.

We highly recommend not using any harsh exfoliants for 48 hours post-treatment and applying daily sun protection with a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.
