Summer is gone and the holidays are approaching. Now is the perfect time for an IPL treatment! We love summer but unfortunately, our skin does not. IPL therapy can undo the damage that the sun has caused. Treatments cannot be done over recently tanned skin so fall is an ideal time for it. Head into the holidays with brighter, younger looking skin!

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy, aka photofacial, is a way to improve the color and texture of your skin. IPL treats the skin with quick and powerful flashes of light. This treatment helps restore the skin’s youthful glow by treating the unwanted “reds” and “browns” that dull the complexion, improving overall tone and texture, and minimizing pore size for overall brighter skin! You can use IPL anywhere on your body. ⁣⁣The most common areas are the face, neck, chest, shoulders & hands.⁣

IPL uses light energy to target a certain color in your skin. When the skin is heated, your body gets rid of the unwanted cells. Unlike lasers, the IPL device sends out multiple wavelengths of pulsating light and can treat a variety of skin conditions at the same time.

On a biological level the wavelength spectrum used in IPL targets the tiny pockets of undesirable pigment in the skin. The hemoglobin (red) and melanin (brown) in these pockets absorbs the light, causing them to heat up and fragment, becoming waste or dead cells. Then the skins own specialized cells known as “phagocytes”, mobilize to remove this waste and the dead cells, revealing a clearer and more youthful complexion.

Photoaging | Sun Damage | Rosacea | Spider Veins | Acne Scaring | Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation | Skin Tone | Skin Texture | Overall Complexion⁣

The treatment lasts approximately 30 minutes and involves only minimal discomfort. Some patients experience redness and swelling post-treatment, but this resolves quickly. You will also notice that any dark spots will get darker, they almost look like small coffee grounds on the skin. They are subtle and will flake off after about 7-14 days. The benefits of the treatment are most often seen gradually in the weeks following the procedure.

There is no recovery time required for IPL and clients can immediately resume their normal daily activities post-treatment. IPL therapy can give you excellent results for up to a year!

Our medical aestheticians will customize a treatment plan specifically for your skin type, concerns and goals!

Single sessions and packages are available. For best results, we recommend a series of three treatments. ⁣

215.622.7724

Summer is gone and the holidays are approaching.
